Sonora Bridge camp is located just off State Highway 108 on the edge of the Walker River Canyon, just east of Sonora Pass, and west of US Highway 395, approximately 20 miles north of the community of Bridgeport, California.

This camp looks like it is in the desert from it's entrance off Highway 108.  But drive back the 1/4 mile and the front ones are in a transition zone.  The back ones are in the forest.  Many of the back ones are on a cliff that overlooks the Walker River Canyon.  These are quite scenic.  My wife and I kicked back in our chairs, looked over the canyon, drank some wine and watched the sun go down.  The canyon walls turned so many pretty colors.  One of our best trips.  Lots of people fly fishing in the Walker River below.

The front bathrooms are flush toilets. The back ones are vault, and talk about nasty!  Reservations are accepted (reserve the back on the cliff).  Visited 08/98, 08/00 and 10/06.
