Upper Rush Creek Campground
Modoc National Forest - Big Valley Ranger District

Click to Locate Crags on an Area MapUpper Rush Creek is located in south west Modoc County 5 miles off of Highway 299.  Access from Hwy 299 starts out paved but then becomes a good dirt road.

The campground is located among very tall and shady pine trees.  All sites are very scenic, a few of them are right on Rush Creek and are probably the best.  Campsites are large and pretty private.

Upper Rush Creek is in a steep canyon and gets very little direct sunlight, keeping this place nice and cool.  There is fallen wood around for campfires and some sites have lots of pine needles, good for tent sleeping comfort. Bathrooms are in typical Modoc fashion, primitive and clean. Reviewed 08/1998.
